This article applies to authors with Chapterly subscriptions. For readers who want to cancel a subscription to an author's content, click here.
From your Home Page, click the dropdown menu in the upper right corner. Select User Settings, then Chapterly Subscription on the side menu of the next page. You will be redirected to your user settings page within the Writing Studio, formerly your Chapterly dashboard.
You can also reach this page from the Writing Studio by clicking the profile menu in the lower left corner and selecting User Settings.
On the right side of the Settings screen, there is a large red button that says, "Cancel Subscription." Click on the Cancel Subscription button to stop any payments from being charged to the card on file.
Next, you'll see a confirmation of the subscription cancellation on the next screen. You will have the option to renew your subscription within 30 days to keep your information stored on the Chapterly app.
If you signed up with a PayPal account, the option to cancel may not show up in your User Settings. Instead, you'll need to manage your subscription directly through your PayPal dashboard. Here's a PayPal help article to guide you in that process.
Changed your mind before completing the onboarding?
If you haven't finished the sign-up process and have not yet selected a subscription plan, there is no subscription to cancel because it hasn't been finalized. Your account creation is not complete until you've finished the onboarding, even if you've entered your payment information. Those details are only saved locally in your cache until your account setup is finalized. If you're in doubt, please reach out to our support staff!
