Note: This article refers only to refunds for Chapterly services and products. Any refunds for content purchased directly from an author must be handled by the author in question.
Here at Chapterly, we're dedicated to helping authors create masterpieces, and we're always working to provide the tools you need and the support you deserve! Most of our products and services are eligible for refund, depending on the circumstances.
We endeavor to maintain a fair and honest approach in such matters, so if you believe you're due a refund for any reason, please reach out to our support staff by email or by clicking the chat bubble at the bottom right. Most refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis, but these are the general guidelines.
First and foremost, if you want a refund, you must request it by messaging or emailing our support staff. We're authors, not mind readers.
Refundable Charges
Subscription Fees - If you signed up under the 30-day money-back guarantee option (NOT the free trial option), you are entitled to a refund if you cancel within the first 30 days and make a refund request with our support team.
Since all users have the ability to cancel at any time from their user settings (or their PayPal dashboard, when applicable), you should be able to avoid unwanted charges by doing so. However, we allow for courtesy refunds for up to the last 3 charges if you can prove you attempted to cancel or requested cancellation previously. Proof can be supplied with screenshots forwarded to our support team.
Subscription Boost - For more information about this product, click here. If you cancel within the first month of your subscription or purchased the boost by accident, the $19.99 USD Boost can be refunded by request.
Author Success Content - All charges associated with our Author Success bundles are eligible for refund, with the exception of a coaching session that has already been held. In that situation, a partial refund would be processed, excluding the cost of the coaching session itself.
Non-Refundable Charges
AI-Related Purchases - Any sale of additional AI tokens/Chap words is final, except in cases where technical error can be confirmed by our tech team. For instance, if the AI tools produced repeated error screens and drained your AI allowance unfairly.
Just as you would still need to pay an editor even if you ignored their advice, please keep in mind that your AI words/tokens are used by generating AI content--not by whether or not you actually use it.
Professional Services - Any purchases related to editing, cover design, or book descriptions are non-refundable, unless you are cancelling the order before the work has been started.
