Why is the Home Page Blank?

I can't see anything on the new home page. Why is the feed empty?

Until very recently, Chapterly was a platform dedicated solely to authors working to publish a book. While we still offer those features, our new Audience platform also allows authors an opportunity to share their work directly with their readers, either by subscribed content or one-time sales.

If you found Chapterly by way of an author you already knew, you were likely directed to their profile from social media or another website. Since we've only just released this beta version of the Audience platform, a direct link to an author's content is the only way to access it... for now! Explore what they have to offer and be sure to leave a comment on the things you enjoy!

If you're an existing Chapterly member, you're already familiar with everything in the newly dubbed 'Writing Studio.' The new home page is the foundation of the Audience feature. Just as any social media feed is blank when you first sign up, Chapterly's content feed will be empty until you start posting or subscribe to other authors. Since the feature is brand new, we don't yet have randomly selected content to fill the page.

If you're completely new to Chapterly and opted to create a reader account just to get a free sneak peek, you're probably confused by the lack of things to see on your home page. We don't yet have enough active authors to allow for browsing, so unless you're already subscribed to an author (even just the free stuff!), your feed will be empty. Check back periodically as we continue to grow!

Author accounts are very different from reader accounts, and there is much more to see and do right from the start. But first, you'll need to create one and become a Chapterly member! You'll be required to use a different email than the account you set up as a reader.
